Town Museum, Balatonfüred

Walking through the permanent exhibition of the museum, we can learn about the Reform Era life in Balatonfüred, for the example the period travel system, the Anna-balls and the medicinal baths.

The Visitor Center, which is the starting point for city walks to the Reform Era part of the city, is also located in the museum. The approximately 1 hour long tours guide the tourists along Lujza Blaha Street and while we wonder at the period's architectural masterpieces, we are told about “the nation’s nightingale", actress Lujza Blaha, author Mór Jókai, and the first Anna-ball. Walking past the Horváth House, the walk leads to the Anna Grand Hotel and the Pantheon of Balatonfüred.

At the statue called 'The Lizard' by Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl we can learn about the rich theater culture of the city, and at the Lajos Kossuth Spring we will hear some of the legends surrounding the healing water. We also visit the Garden of Nobel Laureates, the Indian Garden, the Rose Garden, before the tour ends on the Tagore Promenade at the statue and memorial tree of its namesake.
